Can nonprofit organizations develop social enterprises and not compromise their mission? This question was debated among our group for several hours today. Using case study examples and a philosophical approach, our instructor, Bill Barnett lead us through a fascinating discussion. We examined how social change occurs and how social innovation develops. I am continually amazed at the great minds that we have encountered in this program. Tonite I had dinner with a Harvard professor who is currently teaching social technology at Princeton. Wow!!
It's hard to wrap my mind around all the great ideas that I have encountered as well as the wonderful people that are a part of my class. Some of them are doing amazing work around the world, trying to make it a better place for underprivileged people.
Tomorrow Jennifer Aakers author of the book " The Dragonfly effect" will be our speaker in class.
