Our discussion today focused on two case studies of nonprofits that were at transition points. The critical question is how to integrate mission and strategy? Frequently nonprofits are so engaged in their mission that they don't develop good economic models and a strategy for growth or sustainability. Although this was not new information, the process to analyze the organization was very insightful. This certainly could be a resource that nonprofits could benefit from learning.
The afternoon was an interesting session on group dynamics and the most current research related to group process. Using a Murder Mystery we analyzed a case, facts and how we reach decisions as a group. Definitely some good information that will be useful in community and organizational groups.
More tomorrow...
